
Parks & Recreation
We have numerous city parks located along the River Trail providing hiking, biking, and other recreational experiences for all ages, such as the Kerrville Schreiner Park and Louise Hays Park. Our parks offer a little something for everyone with river access points and splash pads to play and cool down on. Kerrville’s unofficial crown jewel, the multi-use Kerrville River Trail is a popular thoroughfare connecting the city’s riverfront parks.

Kerrville-Schreiner Park
Kerrville-Schreiner Park, a 517-acre municipal park along the Guadalupe River, offers a wide range of amenities and activities. Enjoy 13+ miles of trails, river access, fishing, volleyball and basketball courts, and seasonal rentals for kayaks, canoes, and tubes. Camping options include 30- and 50-amp RV sites, tent camping, mini cabins, and a 3-bedroom Ranch House. The park also features a playground, pollinator garden, picnic areas with grills, and rental spaces like the Recreation Hall, Amphitheater, and Dining Hall. Pets are welcome on-leash in designated areas.


Louise Hays Park
Louise Hays Park, a 64-acre gem on the Guadalupe River in downtown Kerrville, is the crown jewel of the Kerrville Parks System. It features an interactive fountain, playground, restrooms, rentable pavilions, river access, the Centennial Stage, and access to the iconic Kerrville River Trail. The park showcases an expanding collection of public art to engage visitors. Explore Tranquility Island, a serene 7-acre, Cypress-lined island with electric access, rentable and reachable by bridges from the main park and library.
Singing Wind Park
This popular 100-acre park offers a variety of outdoor activities, including an Olympic-sized pool, a skate park, and a softball field. Visitors can enjoy two miles of hiking and biking trails, a playground for children, and a pavilion for gatherings. The park also features a fenced off-leash dog park, allowing pets to play freely. Whether you’re looking to swim, play sports, or enjoy nature, there’s something for everyone here. (Pool is currently closed for renovations.)


Lehmann-Monroe Park
Lehmann-Monroe Park is a 27-acre park with direct access to the Guadalupe River and River Trail, connecting seamlessly to Louise Hays Park. This versatile park offers space for both people and pets to enjoy outdoor activities along the river. Popular amenities include sand volleyball courts, a dog park, birding areas, and two small pavilions for gatherings. The dog park is a favorite, featuring separate fenced areas for small and large dogs, agility equipment, a dog-friendly drinking fountain, and seating.
Guadalupe Park
Guadalupe Park is a 4.5-acre park nestled along the Guadalupe River at Nimitz Lake, conveniently located behind the Inn of the Hills Hotel. The park features shallow swimming areas below the dam and deeper waters above. It offers a variety of amenities, including covered shelters for small gatherings, basketball and volleyball courts, and a playground for kids to enjoy. It is perfect for a day of outdoor fun by the water.


Carver Park
Carver Park, a 5-acre community space redeveloped in 2009, is open daily from dawn to 11 PM and offers a variety of amenities for all ages. Visitors can enjoy a large covered pavilion with a basketball court, multiple smaller pavilions, a scenic trail, BBQ pits, a multiuse sports field, and a newly renovated playground. A highlight on hot days is the Sprayground, a free splash area that adds an extra layer of excitement to the park.

Recreational Facilities

Kerrville Sports Complex Facilities
The Kerrville Sports Complex features four Little League baseball fields, two adult baseball fields, three girls’ softball fields, and two adult softball fields. Additionally, the complex includes 20 acres of youth and adult soccer fields, providing ample space for tournaments, practices, and recreational play.
HEB Municipal Tennis Center
The HEB Municipal Tennis Center is part of the City of Kerrville’s Parks & Recreation Department and features 14 lighted courts and one practice wall. The Pro Shop offers racket stringing, private and semi-private lessons, and availability of demo rental rackets.


Municipal Olympic Pool
The Municipal Olympic Pool facility has an Olympic size 50M X 20Y six-lane pool and a small baby pool. Amenities include a 1-meter low dive and a 3-meter high dive and a pavilion and picnic areas.
The Salvation Army Kroc Center
Nestled on a 16-acre campus, the 48,000 square facility includes a fitness center, gymnasium, café, dance/exercise studio, classrooms, dining hall, Kroc Kids, arts & crafts room, and chapel. The 16,000 square foot outdoor pool deck boasts two warm water pools, a water slide, splash park, rock wall and shade structures.
