Born and raised in northwest Montana, I became interested in art, music and theatre at a young age. The need to create is innate. I can’t Not create.”

My passion for painting ignited when I was introduced to soft pastel. I began studying extensively under the tutelage of landscape oil painter Mark Ogle. It has also been a pleasure to learn from contemporary artists: Janet Sullivan, Denise LaRue Mahlke, Linda Glover Gooch, Doug Dawson and others. Each of these artists contributed not only to my technical knowledge of the skill of art, but my ability to move forward in pursuing my own artistic voice.

In both oil and pastel, my approach is to strive to paint a mixture of traditional realism with a touch of impressionism. My subject matter includes landscapes, skyscapes, still life and wildlife. I enjoy the challenge of capturing the drama of light in bringing these images to life.

My family moved to Central Texas in 2017 and it was then that I chose to pursue a career in fine art. That decision, once again, in the fall of 2021 moved us to the Texas Hill Country. I am inspired by the surrounding beauty and the abundant artistic culture here.

May my paintings transport you mentally, make you happy, spark a memory or tell a story that resonates with you. Art like music is a universal language. It transcends and touches all walks of life. There has always been a song in my heart. I desire to translate that song to canvas so that it speaks to you in a way words can never express.
