My name is Deanna Eixman, I enjoy realism but like to give it a contemporary twist. I also enjoy dabbling with Impressionism when painting landscapes. I am an emerging artist who loves working in both acrylics and in oils. My ability to use light and color while capturing the personality and character of the subject will leave you entranced and wanting to know more about my subjects.

I studied Graphic Design at Baylor University while attending as a scholarship athlete. Graphic Design instilled a strong sense of detail in me however it left me creatively feeling empty. Now I find joy in the detail of my animals while landscapes give way for freedom and void of strict detail. I find joy in God’s creation, such as the beauty of a furry critter, the detail in flower petals or the beauty in the color of the sky. Being surrounded by nature is my happy place and it brings me such peace. Joy is translated through each stroke of my brush whether capturing the essence of an animal with my contemporary realism or the uncommonly fine touch of my palette knife in my colorful landscapes.

Experiencing painting as a form of meditating, of internally seeking my soul to connect with the beauty of God’s Creation, I firmly believe that creating has power! It can bring joy where there is sorrow, peace where there is unrest and clarity where there is confusion. Why? Because creating is just one characteristic of my Lord! Through the arts, doors can be opened and the soul, mind, and body can be healed. Painting is one of my favorite ways to connect with people and the healing heart of God.

As South Texas native, I have had the joy of living over 10 years in the foothills of Colorado which has influenced the colors found in my landscapes. I now call the beautiful Texas Hill Country my home where I reside with my husband. I am a wife, a mother of three with a menagerie of furry and feathered babies. I have the pleasure of being a fulltime artist where I can often be found in my studio teaching private and small group lessons as well as using art as a way to creatively heal the heart and soul in my Creating with the Creator sessions.
