I paint landscapes of the Texas Hill Country in contemporary colors somewhere between realism and Impressionism. Searching for beauty in the solitude of nature, I am drawn to the colors and patterns of light and shadow that fall across the earth. I am enamored with the sculptural quality of trees and reflections on water as well as the intricacies of wild plants and animals, geology, and the weathering of both natural and man-made materials by the elements. With my art, I share that sense of haven or refuge to nurture the spirit.
