Theresa Britt is a professional musician based in the Texas Hill Country, performing as a violinist, fiddler, guitarist, and vocalist. She plays with several bands in the region, including the Allan Hendrickson Band, Bret Mullins Band and Rex Allan McNeil Band, showcasing her skills as a fiddler. As a classical musician, Theresa performs with the Symphony of the Hills in Kerrville, TX, Ballet San Angelo, and in string quartets for weddings and events.

In addition to her performance work, Theresa is a creative arranger, composing music for string orchestra, and is a singer/songwriter. Recently, she has focused on her own project, the Dirty Rotten Swing Band, which features a rotating cast of musicians and blends Western Swing, Jazz, and Blues.

Theresa earned a Master’s degree in Music from Texas Tech University in 2012, following her Bachelor of Music degree from the same institution in 2007. She studied violin under Dr. Kirsten Yon at Texas Tech, and during her academic studies, Theresa traveled to Plzen, Czech Republic, to study at the International Music Academy Plzen.

In past seasons, Theresa has performed with a variety of ensembles across Texas, including the Mid-Texas Symphony, Midland Odessa Symphony and Chorale, the Plainview Symphony, the Caprock String Quartet in Lubbock, the Brazos Valley Symphony in College Station. Bands she has performed and toured with include the Any Given Sunday Band in Fredericksburg, Outlier Texas of Lubbock, and for Rock Box House Band in Fredericksburg.

In 2022, The Dirty Rotten Swing Band had the honor of performing at Zug Jazz Night, a festival in Aug, Switzerland, with additional performances in Germany and Austria. Since 2018, Theresa has also performed with the Jonathan Moody Band off and on playing fiddle and sometimes cello!

Beyond her performance career, Theresa is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of musicians. She serves as the director of the Fredericksburg Community Orchestras, is a teacher for the Hill Country Youth Orchestras, and maintains a large private studio of violin, fiddle, and cello students in the Texas Hill Country.

Theresa hails from humble beginnings in Amarillo, Texas. She began playing the violin in fourth grade through a school program, never imagining how far her music would take her. Through dedication and passion, she has since traveled the world, discovering the limitless possibilities of a life shaped by her violin.
