Today, in solidarity with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul – Southwest Texas Council, we operate a thrift store located at 1145 Broadway in Kerrville, Texas. We also operate a food pantry and a financial aid office at this same location. Unpaid volunteers manage and staff all of these operations. We have no paid employees.
Donated goods are sold in the thrift store and proceeds from the store – along with second collections from Notre Dame Church and other contributions – fund our pantry and assistance activities.
We distribute food obtained from the San Antonio Food Bank or received as in-kind donations from generous organizations such as HEB or Walmart to families in need at our food pantry and periodically throughout the year.
The financial aid office helps people pay bills for utilities (primarily electricity, natural gas, propane and water), gasoline, transportation and other purposes.
As opportunities arise, we also conduct a limited number of home visits every year.
