Live music with Jake the Moondog and Maplewood Brothers
March 7 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Growing up immersed in music at his family’s venue, The Lazy Days Canteen, James Keith Asbury (aka “Jake”) first took the stage with his father’s band, The River Rats, at age 13—an experience that fueled his early love for performing. He had the privilege of growing up surrounded by seasoned entertainers, which sharpened his skills from a young age. Over the past decade-plus, he’s honed his craft as the frontman of Nautical Nation + James Keith & The Moondogs, alternative/ rock bands born in the heart of the Texas Hill Country.
In that time, he’s forged a reputation as an original artist and vocal powerhouse, sharing bills with the Goo Goo Dolls, Red Clay Strays, Scott Stapp of Creed, David Hidalgo of Los Lobos, Switchfoot, Uncle Lucius, Marcy Playground, a plethora of Grammy Award–winning entertainers, and too many others to list here.

As a Texas native, Jake has performed at SXSW Festival at the Paramount Theatre in Austin; Stubb’s Waller Creek Amphitheater; Fiesta’s San Jose MissionFest; the American Airlines Center (Dallas Stars game); and San Marcos’ Summer in the Park, alongside tours in Spain, the UK, France and across the U.S. His debut album Dreamboat and follow-up EPs Golden Seas and Bird in a Cage showcase his genre-blending versatility—earning praise from musicians and journalists across the globe.
With his latest project, Jake the Moondog, he continues to defy musical boundaries as a modern songwriter with timeless influence. His debut Single, TBA, showcases his boundary-breaking writing as a nomadic creator pioneering new sonic territories.
