This spring, Kerrville joins a short list of communities across America chosen to host Spark! Places of Innovation — a Smithsonian traveling exhibition that celebrates the ingenuity, creativity, and tenacity of rural America. And honestly? It couldn’t be a more perfect fit for the Texas Hill Country.

Through photographs, hands-on interactives, real objects, and video, Spark! tells the stories of more than 30 communities that dared to think differently — and changed their corners of the world because of it. Social, artistic, technological, cultural: every kind of innovation, every kind of story.

On display at the Kerr Arts & Cultural Center from May 16 through June 28, the exhibit is free to explore — and so is everything waiting for you just outside its doors. Make a weekend of it. The Hill Country is ready for you.
